Sage 50 Payroll Training Levels

Below are our training levels 1, 2 & 3. These are of course merely suggestions for you to pick out areas that you are interested in. Our Sage 50 Payroll training and consultancy is normally done at your premesis, on your system, making sure that the training is tailored to you and the way you work.

 

Payroll Level 1

Introduction to  Sage Payroll

 

Course Aims:

• This course is the first stage of essential training for Sage users. It focuses on the main features of Sage Payroll.

Prerequisites: 

• An understanding of basic Payroll principles.

 

Course Content

 

• Basic concepts of  Sage Payroll
• The structure of Payroll screen explained. 
• Logging on and changing passwords.
• Using Wizards for complex tasks
• Entering Company information.
• Setting different Pay rates.
• Paying overtime
• Checking Government legislation. 
• Creating Employee records . 
• Processing the Payroll and Payroll Processing checklist
• Correcting errors
• Dealing with Directors salaries.
• Backing up all data and Restoring data
• Viewing backup and restore log

Payroll Level 2

Intermediate -  Sage Payroll

 

Course Aims:

• This course is the second stage of essential training for Sage Payroll users. It focuses on the Intermediate  features of Sage Payroll.

Prerequisites: 

• Attendance on level 1 training or equivalent experience.

 

Course Content

 

• Payroll Processing and Payroll Processing checklist
• Using Wizards for complex tasks
• Dealing with New starters and Leavers
• Dealing with  SSP/SMP,
• Setting up holiday schemes
• Setting up pension schemes
• Entering Tax credits
• Setting up working day patterns
• Setting up departments and cost centres. 
• Working with deductions and attachments
• Restricting Access to  employee information
• Running the Year end routines.
• Net-to-Gross Calculations
• Setting up Data Security

 

Payroll Level 3

Advanced - Sage Payroll

 

Course Aims:

• This course is the third stage of essential training for Sage Payroll users. It focuses on the more advanced  features of Sage Payroll.

Prerequisites: 

• Attendance on level 2 training or equivalent experience.

 

Course Content

 


• Adding new users with relevant Access rights
• Reports and Layout editing
• Payments via the electronic banking system
• Paying Inland Revenue electronically
• Linking Sage Payroll to  Sage Line 50 or Line 100
• Viewing employee details, such as payment history, Holidays, Sickness, Absence
• Setting up Cars and Fuel values
• Paying Bonuses via Sage Payroll
• Using the Loans facility
• Archive Data for up to 7 years
• Providing Historical Payslips
• Integration of Payroll with Microsoft applications to  create letters for employees, spreadsheets for employee analysis and setting up Payroll reminders
• Import Timesheet information directly into Payroll
• Exporting information from Payroll into Microsoft applications
